Puttin' Up Corn Pictures

Thanks to G'Wanda for taking these action pictures.

Jeramy shucks.

I silk.

I know they talk about babying your baby -
perhaps draping her in silk,
but I don't think this is what they meant . . . :-)

The wash before blanching.

Mrs. Anderson blanches it.
(Rolling boil for 4-5 minutes to kill any bugs and bacteria.)
Cool it.
(Keep it filled with ice water.)

Cream it.
(Slide the ear of corn down the groove over the blades pictured.)

(Add a little bit of water for the proper texture.)

Bag it and freeze it.

That looks delicious! I would love to do that myself, because my husband loves cream corn, but I have never done it. Where did you get the contraption with the blades? It doesn't look too hard to do it, just lots of work!

Hey Dianna,
I think my in-laws are able to buy these at local hardware-type stores. Here are three links to places online where I found the corn cutters. After we cream it, the water is added not only for texture, but also to help with the cooking. If there isn't any added water, it is more prone to burning when you cook it.
