Our Happy Helper

Moriah does, indeed, help with loading and unloading the dryer and the dishwasher. She loves to be a helper. She's so funny! This was my first video attempt. Hopefully I'll get better.

In yesterday's post, it might seem as though we do not discipline Moriah by spanking. Some parents encourage spanking and others don't - it can be a controversial parental decision today. The Scriptural mandate is clear on this issue. Jeramy and I are firm believers of spanking and we do it often. The point I wanted to make was that her temper tantrums in the last two weeks have caught us by surprise by the sheer dramatic exhibition of it. Historically we have spanked her for outright disobedience, etc. I could have used a lot more spankings than I actually received. :-)

He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.
Proverbs 13:24

Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him.
Proverbs 22:15

Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish him with the rod, he will not die. Punish him with the rod and save his soul from death.
Proverbs 23:13-14

The rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother.
Proverbs 29:15

"FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES." It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness. All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.
Hebrews 12:6-11

"'Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.'"
Revelation 3:19

That's cute. You should title it "Moriah and the bottomless dryer". I bet she was thinking "this thing goes on forever".
