Where Were You

the morning of September 11, 2001?

I was on my way to my 9 a.m. class at GMU, completely oblivious to the tragedy that had just occurred. It was about lunchtime that I got the full story.

Mom was working in Fairfax and my Dad was at home.

Many people at my church who worked in the Pentagon had other commitments that kept them from going to work that day.

Never forget.

Never forget that God is sovereign. It is easy to understand but very difficult to grasp.

Say to God,"How awesome are Your works!
Because of the greatness of Your power Your enemies will give feigned obedience to You.
Psalm 66:3

I was at home with 9 month old Isaac and thinking about what Michael and I would do to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. He called from work to let me know what had happened, and shortly thereafter came home (he was working in a highrise in downtown, so there was a bit of a scare). We just sat and watched the news all day. It was so sad. I recorded all of the news on a VHS tape for Isaac to be able to watch when he was old enough, but that tape has been lost :(

I was also at home with Hannah (6 months) and a friend called to tell me to turn on the TV.
